Developing soft skills and behavior
Sales skills, cooperation skills, negotiation skills, leadership, delivering bad news, influence… These are all soft skills that are developed in corporate trainings. You have inspiring trainings and inefficient, boring ones. It is indeed a real profession.
Classic ingredients that determine a training’s quality are: skilled trainers, validated theory, a safe group dynamic and relevant roleplays. Usually these trainings take place in a nice location away from the office and they are sometimes extended by e-learning (online theory or homework assignments), workplace learning or individual coaching.
In soft skills trainings, the roleplays are often regarded as the most effective part. When done in real life, these practice sessions are limited in time. Most often, these trainings exist of 1 to 2 days, with a followup day some weeks later.
Can this be improved?
Many organizations and innovative training companies are constantly striving for cost advantages, state-of-the-art tools, a sense of ‘ownership’ for the participants and most of all: the highest learning effects. With and for these organizations, TrainTool was founded.
TrainTool’s core premise: developing soft skills = practice + feedback.
Skill development should no longer be limited to a couple of real life meetings, but should be build and maintained by as much practice as one needs. We believe this can be done by offering usable e-training tools that combine knowledge transfer, group dynamic and a lot of practice possibilities (through video, webcam and chatting).
